🍎 Can Google Pull An Apple?

Here's why Cramer wants Google to emulate Apple, the one bright spot in solar names and more

Happy Wednesday Zingernation! I’ve had a pretty conventional journey when it comes to trading. I started out buying some big Fortune 500 companies. Then I was trading the serious stuff like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. Eventually, I worked my way up to options.

Now I think I’m finally ready to take the next step. I’m talking about burger arbitrage baby. If you haven’t heard, Wendy’s is testing a new “dynamic pricing” for its burgers. It’s based on demand, with prices “surging” during high demand. The way I’m going to trade these things, the only thing that’ll be red is Wendy’s hair.

MARKET SNAPSHOT

Yesterday: Was pretty much the exact opposite of Monday. Instead of leaking throughout the day, bullish investors outpaced bears in the afternoon, bringing the S&P 500 from red to green. The Dow was the only major average to finish in the red.

On Our Radar: GDP revision out before the open. Then we’ll hear from companies like Salesforce, Paramount, and more after the close.

Briefly: If you’re the CEO of a company and you don’t know what to do, following Apple’s lead will probably lead you down the right path. Yesterday Apple announced it’s ditching plans to build an Apple car, and the stock rallied.

Follow The Leader: Jim Cramer, host of CNBC’s “Mad Money,” has suggested that Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. should streamline its business operations, following Apple’s lead.

What Happened: Cramer expressed his concerns about Alphabet’s diverse business ventures and its lack of transparency during a recent episode of “Mad Money.” He believes that a more focused approach could potentially boost Alphabet’s stock performance, reported CNBC on Monday.

Quoted: "It's time for Google, Alphabet — whatever, I don't even care — to stop running as a skunkworks for all sorts of ideas that may or may not work and start focusing on actually making some money," he said.

"Otherwise, let's just say: I smell a skunk."

In Short: You gotta fight, fight for your right to CENSORRRR. The Supreme Court is debating whether or not social media platforms like Meta and X have a right to censor content that they find problematic.

A Brief History: The saga began in 2021 when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law a bill that prohibits social media companies from removing posts by their users. The law was aimed at preventing social media giants from banning political candidates in election seasons.

Decision Time: The Supreme Court ruling is expected in June. It will define whether social media companies should be ruled by the laws governing traditional media or whether they could be considered "common carriers."
