Yesterday: The S&P hit new all-time highs (briefly) as investors gear up for lower interest rates. Enphase and other solar stocks were some of the big winners of the day.

Basically: The Federal Reserve is widely anticipated to cut interest rates at its upcoming Federal Open Market Committee meeting, with the decision set for release on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.

Basically: The central bank has maintained the federal funds rate at 5.25%-5.5% since September 2023 and this week’s rate reduction would be the first since March 2020, signaling a marked shift from the restrictive monetary policy stance implemented to combat soaring inflation. Basically: United States Steel Corporation CEO David Burritt says he is confident that the company's potential merger with Japan's Nippon steal will go through, despite the Biden administration’s opposition to the deal.

So: In a speech to the Detroit Economic Club Tuesday, Burritt said that the acquisition would be good for both shareholders and employees. Here’s what the potential deal means for the stock.

Zeus, a 12-year-old German Shepherd, showed complete remission of terminal cancer, while Benson, a 12-year-old Newfoundland suffering from severe arthritis, regained his mobility, leading to what caretakers described as a miraculous recovery, reports Telomir.
