🏝 Spring Broke

Spring break is cancelled, Boeing's problems are coming in droves and more

Happy Wednesday, Zingers! It’s exciting getting your first job out of college. Getting to dress up and feel ‘grown up,’ meeting a whole new group of people, and so on. What’s less exciting? When the realization hits that you’re in the real world and there’s no such thing as ‘Spring Break’ anymore.

It’s that time of the year again for many beach towns across the country. That is, aside from Miami. In case you missed it, Miami released commercials and PSAs that the city is ‘cancelling’ spring break, telling drunk college kids, “It’s not me, it’s you.” So I guess I’m not the only one missing out on Spring Break this year.

Basically: The 2024 NFL season kicks off on Wednesday, March 13, setting the stage for an exciting time of free agency and team trades. As these moves shake up team rosters, they’re also causing shifts in the Super Bowl LIX betting odds across sports betting platforms.

What Happened: The Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII to become the first team in 19 seasons to win back-to-back Super Bowls. The Chiefs remain one of the betting favorites to win a third-straight Super Bowl, a feat that has never happened in NFL history.

Making Moves: Other teams have been more active in the early days of free agency, as teams were able to negotiate with players beginning Monday. Many verbal contracts have been signed ahead of Wednesday's start to the season.

New Homes: Some of the most notable acquisitions to date were quarterback Kirk Cousins with the Atlanta Falcons, running back Saquon Barkley with the Philadelphia Eagles, and quarterback Russell Wilson with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
